In order to foster a response to our Baptismal call, OLG students and families are presented with opportunities to serve others.

Below is a calendar of the community service and social justice efforts that will take place throughout the school year.  Service projects support our parish initiatives and our grade level curriculum.   New ideas are considered every year.   While some of these initiatives are school-wide projects, others are led by individual grades, connected to curriculum being taught in the classroom during that quarter.  This allows the students to put into action an aspect of the curriculum they are learning.

Along with these initiatives, OLG School also has a Middle School Service Club (MSSC) for  students in grades 6-8 who have a strong desire to help others, above and beyond basic service hours requirements.  MSSC runs a wide variety of service events throughout the school year.  Click here for more information.

We hope our efforts throughout the year will instill in our students/families the Catholic philosophy of giving of one’s time, treasure and talent in thanksgiving for the gifts God has given to us.  As written in Luke 12:48 …”Everyone to whom much is given, of him will much be required…”
