Sarah Betts Selected to Attend Nobel Prize Ceremonies!

Congratulations to OLG graduate Sarah Betts (Class of 2014) who has been awarded with a full scholarship to attend the Nobel Prize Ceremonies Week in Stockholm in December! Only 5 students internationally are selected each year for this honor. (The below information regarding Sarah and the Ceremonies is taken from the Visitation Website.)

Sarah has been invited to attend Nobel Week, hosted by Stockholm University; the Nobel Prize Award Ceremonies, the Nobel Lectures, and numerous festivities take place in honor of the 2017 Nobel Laureates. Sarah has also been invited to attend official lectures presented by the 2017 Laureates in Physics, Chemistry, Medicine, Literature and Economic Sciences and she will participate in conferences and a luncheon with Stockholm University professors who sit on the Nobel Selection Committees.

Sarah has two utility patents for her orthopedic medical device called the ViEx® for patients suffering from chronic hand pain. Currently, the University of Minnesota and Twin Cities Orthopedics are using Sarah's invention with their own patients. Sarah is also a gifted violinist with national conservatory honors and aspires to be a neurosurgeon.

We are proud of Sarah and all of her accomplishments and wish her well on her journey to Stockholm!
